Recent visitors to my website may have been interested to see four new works which are all pastels based on Lake Pier in Poole Harbour.In June I was commissioned to paint a small seascape of the pier which for the client evokes happy childhood memories of holidays and time spent swimming and sailing in this attractive part of Poole Harbour. The painting was to be in pastel and similar to an earlier work which was sold. The size unframed had to be about 20cm square so that when mounted and framed the finished painting can partner another work of mine purchased by the same client last year. Normally I paint in a much larger format although I do have a liking for small square images which can be dynamic when well presented. I decided to paint four alternative versions of Lake Pier for selection. One of these has been chosen by the client and awaits framing.
